Resham Sahi
Born to Pushpendra Singh Sahi and Bela Sahi, I spent most of my growing up years in Indore, small town of central India. Being an only child to a single parent, I was truly addicted to colours. I found immense joy in being creative and making things and was very, very fortunate to have a mother who supported my ambition to learn. Learn I did from the best of teachers, in different styles of art and mediums for a good decade. With lots of time and fascination for colours, my house was my first art gallery and my mother, my first art appreciator who not only displaced my art all around the house but took pride in my every small achievements an artist. As I grew older and decided to make my career choice to be in technology, I moved to California, there were a few years where life and household chores took over. My husband Ruchir has been someone who has always appreciated and pushed me to do what I love. As I paint today, I can only relate to Thomas Merton saying
“Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time.”
